Everything you Need to know about the Scramble

If you are NEW TO THE SCRAMBLE, we strongly recommend that you review the following materials. Questions may be directed to the TCYC Fleet Captain: shill_edit [at] telus [dot] net .

The Course

• The Start/Finish line is in the "middle" of English Bay (TCYC Burgee)
• You have to round to the four "corners" of English Bay and then back to the Start/Finish
• The four courners are: (SE) the Kits Barge Buoy, (SW) an ornage mark near the Pt Grey Bell Buoy, (NW) Passage Island, (NE) another orange mark north of QB, near West Van
• You can round the marks in any order you wish and leave them either to port or starboard - is is up to you!
• You must come back and sail through the start/finish line once more, during the race, after rounding either your first or your second mark, whichever ones you chose

The Start

True to the spirit of the racer, the you can also start either way. Effectively, we have TWO start lines, one on either side of the Committee Boat. You can use either, but you must KEEP the COMMITTEE BOAT to STARBOARD(only during the start; mark roundings and finishes can be on either side of the startline
